How will YOU work for food?
WILL WORK FOR FOOD aims to stimulate local community service while fighting child malnutrition.
-"Workers" partake in some kind of community service (a "work effort") and then find friends or family to "sponsor" their work with a donation.
1) Register and create a profile.
2) Decide how you want to volunteer in your community, and create a work effort. If you're a part of club or team, join its work effort.
3) Use the "Get Sponsors" tool to send a pre-drafted email to friends and family asking them to sponsor you.
-"Sponsors" are friends or family members of "Workers" that make a donation to WILL WORK FOR FOOD to honor the community service work being done. (Click here to sponsor a worker).
Every dollar raised helps purchase nutritional supplements, as seen in this photo, to save malnourished kids abroad.
Workers from the same school can join a "GROUP."
-Check out the join a group page to see if your school is already registered.
Workers from the same club/team/class can create a "WORK EFFORT" together.
-This allows you and your friends to organize service efforts and track the money you raise together.
BECOME A CAMPUS or HIGH SCHOOL REP
We can't be everywhere so we need your help spreading the word about WILL WORK FOR FOOD. As a Rep, you will be given an internship with the chance to represent WILL WORK FOR FOOD and the "volunteering locally to save children globally" initiative at your school.
Example of Work Efforts
It's up to you what work you take on, but it should be something that benefits your community in some way or another.
-Serve a meal at a soup kitchen.
-Tutor younger students.
-Volunteer at a hospital or make "feel better" cards for sick kids.
-Donate clothes that you've out grown.
-Donate canned food.
-Help an elderly neighbor with some house work.
Once you've lined up your work effort, find a friend or family member to "sponsor" your work effort by making a donation to WILL WORK FOR FOOD through your profile.
