WHAT: A delicious warm meal for the community. Arts and crafts for the children, music for all!

WHEN: Mid-February, Time is TBD

WHERE: Benes Room

WHY: To strengthen community relations by offering a meal for those in Delaware County. Help feed Delaware and Darfur! Have sponsors support your community service in Delaware - money raised goes directly to help malnourished children in Darfur.

In addition there will be opportunities to serve meals at local soup kitchens. More information will be posted shortly...

I am really interested in helping Darfur. When I was a senior in high school, I did a senior project during the majority of the year which included research and awareness efforts. I was originally made aware of the situation in Darfur through my high school youth group, and now I have been introduced to Will Work For Food through the OWU Hillel. I am very excited to do some hands-on work to help Darfur while at the same time helping people domestically.

As a Jew, I believe it is my responsibility to help those in need, whenever and wherever I can. I am interested in encouraging the students I work with at Ohio Wesleyan University to work for social and economic justice locally and globally. Will Work for Food combines these efforts. It sort of feels like double-dipping, but I guess there's nothing wrong with that, as long as it's for a good cause!

I am currently serving as the WILL WORK FOR FOOD representative at Ohio Wesleyan University. This is my senior year and I am excited to bring a new initiative to campus that will simultaneously better our community and help feed malnourished children in Darfur. I am WORKING FOR FOOD because I believe this nonprofit has created a wonderful opportunity for students to use their creativity to stand up for causes that are important to them, making a difference at home and in Darfur.
