Money raised: $875

Originally, I became interested in the cause behind Will Work For Food when my friend David Ferrara brought the effort to Georgetown University. With my major concentrating in Health Care Management and Policy, I was intrigued at the possibility of positively impacting the health situations of others. Participating in this cause made me realize how fortunate I am, which furthered my interest in fundraising.
Our first community volunteer endeavor took place at the DC Central Kitchen. Here, we received an glimpse into the behind the scenes operations of the kitchen and the constituents its operations effect. Throughout the afternoon, we peeled, cleaned and packaged potatoes for future use. The head of the kitchen explained the impact of which our volunteering meant. Helping out another group of those in need made our fundraising effort even more rewarding.
